The Van Gieson Building was designed and constructed in the Georgian Revival style in c.1920 and is a contributing structure in the Montclair Town Center Historic District. Rehabilitation of the commercial storefront facade using brick masonry and clear anodized aluminum received Historic Preservation Commission approval. The Commission noted that the design strictly followed the intent of the design criteria contained in the Township's Historic Preservation Ordinance and that it was in full compliance with the guidelines adopted by the Secretary of the Interior.
